Good morning Wypierdalaj,
The big weather event this week waits until Friday to unfold -- we're talking downpours, possible isolated thunderstorms, and wind gusts 40-45mph. Other news we're following includes witness testimony in the Matthew Farwell trial, and Lawrence's embattled mayor in court. I'm Kaitlin McKinley Becker, and these are your headlines. |

| Temps hit 70s today but all eyes are on Friday's weather |
Today’s temps are on the upswing thanks to a warm front that slipped by last night. We’ll start near 60 and head for the mid-70s! Sun will be hampered by lots of clouds, and there could be a passing sprinkle in the afternoon. We’ll slide back to reality tomorrow with plenty of sun and a cooler breeze. |

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as a man attacked two Boston police officers who were trying to arrest him in the South End Monday. The officers are expected to be okay after being sent to the hospital in the altercation with Sharknell Matthews, who appeared in court to face charges, including assault and battery on a police officer. The officers were called to Blackstone Square Monday evening for reports of a man chasing strangers and kicking their dogs, officials said. When they arrived, Matthews, wearing a mask, allegedly walked away from the officers despite being ordered to stop. |

The first witness took the stand Tuesday in the trial against Matthew Farwell, and her testimony offered a glimpse into the life of Sandra Birchmore. The Massachusetts woman was 23 when she died in 2021 in her Canton apartment. Her death was initially ruled a suicide, but federal prosecutors allege Farwell — a detective with the Stoughton Police Department — killed her and staged the scene to look that way. Another Stoughton detective, Heather Cheever, was the first witness called by the prosecution. |

They paid for their wedding photos in full. Some had photographers booked for months. Then, just days or weeks before the wedding, an email arrived saying the company they booked through was filing for bankruptcy. Customers of Boston-based Picture This Wedding were forced to hire someone else, and photographers working for the company say they’re owed thousands of dollars. For most people, once the photographer is booked and paid for, that’s one less thing to worry about. But some couples found out just days before their big day that they had to start over. |

Move-in delays at a Boston apartment building aiming to add housing through a city program has left some tenants scrambling for a place to live. The project at 263 Summer St. is converting former office space into dozens of units. But after repeated delays, some tenants have their leases, but no apartments. One woman, who asked to remain anonymous, told NBC10 Boston she signed her lease in July, with a Sept. 1 move-in date. |
