Hi Jalskffl,

Have you been playing bluegrass guitar for a while, putting in the practice time, but still feel like you should be further along than you are?

If so, you might be making a few mistakes that are actually slowing down your progress.

And here's the interesting thing...

Some of these mistakes are things that guitar players do because they genuinely believe they're going to help them get better!

Things like:

  • Spending too much time on picking exercises

  • Trying to improvise before you're ready

  • Obsessing over pick grip, hand position, and pick angle

  • Focusing too much on speed and not enough on music

In my newest YouTube lesson, I break down 7 common mistakes I see intermediate flatpickers make and explain what I think you should be doing instead.

If you've been practicing consistently but aren't seeing the progress you'd like, I think this lesson could help you identify a few things that might be holding you back.

→ Watch: Why Intermediate Flatpickers Stop Getting Better

Enjoy!

Aaron

P.S. The seventh mistake might be the most important of all. It's something I've seen hold guitar players back for years, and it's one of the biggest reasons I believe having a clear developmental path is so important.
