As we inch closer to the clocks changing, I have to admit this is a time of year I personally struggle with. I’m very much a summer baby! I love the lighter mornings and evenings and feel so much more productive when it’s not dark by 6 pm. But even though they happen every year, the days when you can tell the nights are starting to draw in always hit me a little harder as I adjust to the change.
As a consequence of this, I find my healthy habits can sometimes take a hit too. Early gym sessions feel harder, dog walks are wetter and darker, and I’m craving all the comfort food to get me through. Rather than forcing myself straight back into my usual routine, I try to give myself a little grace. Prioritising sleep, focusing on what I can add to my diet rather than take away, and finding new ways to move my body that suit the season are all little things that help keep me motivated. If you’re feeling the same, our lovely Emma has shared some great tips this week to help you maintain healthy habits when motivation dips.
On a brighter note, one of the best things about this time of year is all the delicious seasonal produce! If you know me, you’ll know that cooking and experimenting in the kitchen is my happy place, so I love finding new ways to make the most of what’s in season. This week, we’re celebrating some of autumn’s stars – scroll down to find them! And for some additional recipe inspiration this week, we are sharing five healthy dinner recipes.
