And what I rebuilt while I was out

Hey there,

As you probably heard, a back injury kept me out of work for four months this year, and YouTube went on hold. I'm back now, and I've spent a lot of that time away improving the Solo Technical Consultant Workshop.

It's for experienced developers who've hit the point where getting better stops paying off. People act on your advice, but you're paid for your output, and AI keeps raising how much output is expected.

Consultants get paid differently. I found that out by accident. Years ago, I was working for an agency downtown here in Austin, Texas. I built a six slide pitch nobody asked me for, to diagnose a problem I saw at a client. When I presented what I found, eight people were in the room, and they started asking me what they should do instead of what I could build.

That shift in how I work opened the door to all the things I was missing out on as an employee. And eventually, it led to me coaching other tech professionals so they could do it too.

The workshop is five evenings to help you not just learn, but take action. The page linked below covers what this kind of consulting buys you, and how the improved workshop gets you started:

See if you're a fit

The next cohort runs Monday through Friday, October 26-30, 6:00-7:30 PM Central on Zoom.

Enrollment closes Sunday, October 25.
