Montreal's viral "raccoon guy" is fighting to keep his companion, Pepper, out of the hands of wildlife officials.
Pepper came into Louka Berman’s life in May, when he nursed the orphaned baby raccoon back to health after finding him injured on a construction site, The Gazette's Leora Schertzer reports.
Now, Berman is hiding Pepper from authorities, fearing an unhappy ending for his beloved — but illegal — pet.
