On July 20, 2026, Nevada submitted a request for a new five-year Medicaid section 1115(a) demonstration entitled "Healthy Futures." This demonstration aims to improve access to medically necessary procedures to preserve fertility for Medicaid beneficiaries of reproductive age (15-49) diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer whose cancer treatment may directly or indirectly cause infertility. Under this demonstration, Nevada will cover collection of eggs, egg retrieval, and storage of retrieved mature eggs for Medicaid beneficiaries who meet eligibility criteria. The federal public comment period will be open from October 7, 2026 through November 6, 2026.
