We know that some of you really like CDs, and don't want to see them go away. We understand and share the desire for real physical media, but for a lot of compelling reasons, continuing to release Dark Adventure Radio Theatre episodes on CD makes less and less sense. Starting with Going Forth by Day, the HPLHS will not be pressing any more CDs. We're not getting rid of CDs we have, we're just not making new ones. BUT - we have heard you loud and clear about your affection for physical media, and we have what we hope will prove an even better solution.

We have long offered Dark Adventure episodes as convenient digital downloads, and that is going to stay the same. Your downloads are yours to own and keep as you see fit: they do not have DRM of any kind. Going forward, new DART shows will be available either as a digital download, or on a brand new custom-designed DART radio tube USB drive. The drive offers a number of advantages we think you'll like:

• one DART USB drive can hold your newest Dark Adventure shows. But it's capacious enough to hold ALL of the other existing shows too.

• carefully designed to provide an in-world Dark Adventure experience

• episodes will no longer be limited by the amount of audio that will fit on a CD

• more bonus content is possible

• easily connect it to most computers, pads, phones, or cars

• you will still have collectible physical media that's all yours

But that's not all. To make this transition more fun, if you order Going Forth by Day on our radio tube drive, you'll get exclusive BONUS CONTENT!

• A Going Forth by Day blooper reel

• A special audio discussion of Twenty Years of Dark Adventures featuring Sean & Andrew, and a host of special guests

• A snippet of recovered tape from an episode thought lost: The Creeping Cactus of Cuernavaca

• Learn DART Insider Insights - results from HPLHS' internal Dark polling

So how's this going to work? With this new episode, you can order a standard download; a download with prop; or a USB drive preloaded with the show, plus a download, and the props. For future shows, you can either get the download and then store it on your USB drive, or heck, just get another USB drive with the show on it. Each episode will come with a special sticker you can apply to the drive itself or to the custom-designed box so you can tell at a glance what episode/s is/are on the drive.

For older titles, we will continue to sell them on CD as long as we have CDs to sell. If we run out of CDs for any given title, then you will be able to get that show in the same manner as new shows: a download, a download with props, or a download with props and a drive.

We genuinely believe that retiring CDs offers a better experience for our customers. After all, what's special about Dark Adventure Radio Theatre is not the piece of plastic it comes on.You'll still be able to get your physical media, but it'll be in a neat, new convenient in-world format. Collect and store your shows all in one place! And save the last bullet for yourself.
