Armenia: Comprehensive Bankruptcy Code Adopted to Replace Fragmented Legislation

On June 18, 2026, the National Assembly of Armenia adopted a legislative package comprising the new Bankruptcy Code of the Republic of Armenia and related amendments. The code is scheduled to take effect on July 3, 2027, one year after its official publication. (Art. 369.)The reform will replace Armenia’s fragmented bankruptcy framework with a consolidated code governing the substantive and procedural aspects of insolvency. It will apply to both legal entities and individuals and bring together rules that were previously contained in the Law on Bankruptcy and several related legislative acts....
