Join us for a special Hispanic Reading Room Open House at the Library of Congress in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month 2026. Part of Live! At the Library, this drop-in program will highlight Library collections documenting celebrations, cultural traditions, and community life across Latino communities in the United States.

Visitors are invited to explore collection displays featuring books and other materials related to traditions and observances including Día de los Muertos, Las Posadas, quinceañeras, and more.

Meet Library librarians, specialists, and curators; learn about resources and services available through the Hispanic Reading Room; and take part in family-friendly activities including trivia, Reading Room tours, and a papel picado craft.

The Open House will also offer visitors an opportunity to explore the Reading Room’s recently refreshed reference collection and discover resources available to new and returning researchers.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required; visit the event page for additional information and tickets. https://www.loc.gov/item/event-423169/hispanic-reading-room-open-house/2026-10-15/
