Irish rockers U2 will release their first full-length album of new material in nine years — the 12-track “Carnaval De Luz,” which will feature a song with Dolly Parton.

Interscope Records announced that Nov. 13 will be the sale date for U2’s 16th studio album and released a new track, “Silencio.” “Street of Dreams,” the first song to be taken from the new album, was released in July.

“It’s a messy, provocative, sacred collection of songs,” The Edge, the band’s guitarist, said in a statement. Added singer Bono: “There will be loud guitars, deep bass, some ecstatic rhythms.”

The field is set for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

Madonna leads the nominations for the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards with 11 nods, followed by Taylor Swift with nine. Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter earned seven nominations apiece. 

The star-studded ceremony will also celebrate some of music’s biggest icons. Nirvana will receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award, while Taylor Swift will be honored with the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors and is expected to premiere the music video for her new song, “Patient Zero,” during the show.

Macklemore announced he will launch the Free Palestine Tour this fall after being removed from Ed Sheeran’s tour this month over his pro-Palestinian performance.

Macklemore took to Instagram on Thursday and jokingly said that his “schedule freed up a bit,” announcing three performance dates in Dublin, London and Paris next month.

“What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage,” he wrote. “When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.”

Dee Brock, the original director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders who helped mold the prototype for NFL sideline entertainment, died on Wednesday, the team said. She was 96.

“In loving memory of Dee Brock, our founding director,” according to a team statement. “We will forever honor her and her legacy.”

When the squad was first formed in 1961, Brock according to the team’s history, “utilized high school students with traditional cheers to lead the crowd.”

Taylor Swift is giving fans another reason to tune into the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

The pop superstar’s music video for her new single “Patient Zero” will make its world premiere during the VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 27, airing on CBS and MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

CBS and MTV announced the news Thursday along with a 13-second teaser clip that first aired on “CBS Mornings.”
