As our platform continues to grow, we're updating our API Terms of Use to help ensure the platform remains secure, reliable, and sustainable for everyone who builds with WHOOP.

- Keeping the Platform Secure
We've clarified how WHOOP may apply API usage limits and, where necessary, suspend API access to help protect the security, integrity, and availability of the WHOOP platform, WHOOP Data, our users, and third-party systems.
- Updated security requirements
If you become aware of a security incident affecting your integration, you'll need to notify WHOOP within 48 hours by contacting apisupport@whoop.com and work with us to investigate, mitigate, and resolve the issue.
- Clearer requirements on API and data usage
We've expanded our guidance around how the APIs, API Materials, and WHOOP Data may be used. This includes clarifying restrictions on commercializing API access or data, creating competing API services, and how WHOOP Data may be shared or represented.
- New rules for AI and machine learning
To help protect WHOOP proprietary technology and member data, the updated Terms prohibit using the APIs or WHOOP Data to create, develop, test, train, fine-tune, or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models and systems.
- Brand and trademark usage
We've updated our brand guidelines to clarify how WHOOP names, trademarks, logos, and other brand assets may be used. You may accurately state that your application integrates with the WHOOP APIs, but you may not imply a partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement by WHOOP without our prior written approval.
- Additional updates
We've also clarified prohibited uses of the APIs, updated our definition of WHOOP Data and how it may be used and represented, updated our indemnification provisions, and explained how future changes to the API Terms will be communicated.
