Rundeck/Runbook Automation 6.2.1 is here! Check out the new features and enhancements for PagerDuty Runbook Automation and Rundeck Community included in this release. This release includes a new conditional-logic capability, Japanese-language Enterprise UI, and security hardening and fixes, including:


Conditional Logic: AND/OR Toggle

Building on the Conditional Logic Steps Early Access work from 6.1.0, conditional workflow steps now include a toggle that swaps how conditions combine. By default, conditions within a set use AND, and sets combine with OR; therefore, all conditions in a set must match. With the toggle enabled, any condition in a set can satisfy that set. This lets you express more complex branching without nested conditionals or Job Reference workarounds. Existing conditional steps stay unchanged unless you turn the toggle on.

Rundeck MCP Server

The new Rundeck MCP Server connects MCP-compatible AI assistants, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code, to your Rundeck or Runbook Automation instance. You can query projects, generate and validate jobs, manage ACLs, and provision runners from chat, all authenticated with your own API token. It ships separately from 6.21 and works with Rundeck 6.1.0 or later.

**From 6.2.0 upgrade to 6.2.1

6.2.1 is a patch for two 6.2.0 changes that broke some existing setups. These include undeclared job options and a default login change. If you are running 6.2.0, upgrade to 6.2.1; changing the default admin password remains a recommended hardening step.
