Craig Breslow stood in a puddle of beer in his stocking feet on Sunday, watching the team he assembled celebrate having clinched its spot in the postseason.
That’s when he realized he still had his phone in his pocket. The Red Sox chief baseball officer carefully picked his way down the hallway to put it out of harm’s way before he got even more soaked.
“Smart move,” Breslow was told.
“It might be too late,” he said, laughing.
You can always get a new phone. But how often can you enjoy the satisfaction of proving that an entire city, if not an entire industry, was wrong?
