Hey there, I ended up rearranging the pantry last night because I couldn't find the cumin for that chili recipe, and then I realized I had accidentally put the spice jars behind the pasta boxes. It took me maybe twenty minutes to get everything sorted, but the kitchen looks so much better now.

After that, I tried to fix the loose handle on the hallway closet, but the screw was stripped and I didn't have a replacement that fit. I ended up leaving it propped with a rubber band just so the door would stay shut.

I'm trying to get better at finishing small projects the same day instead of adding them to a list that never gets shorter. My neighbor mentioned that their garage door opener stopped working in the cold weather, so I might take a look at that later this week if they still need help.

Also, I started a new audiobook while doing dishes, and it's one of those space travel stories with a lot of engineering details. I don't always follow the science, but the narrator has a really calm voice. Perfect for folding laundry.

I've been meaning to tell you about the trail near the reservoir, the one with the wooden bridge that's covered in moss on one side. When I went last Sunday, there were only a few other people out, and the fog was so thick you couldn't see the water until you were right next to it. Made the whole walk feel like a different place.

Then I got back and spent way too long trying to create a Spotify playlist for road trips, but I kept adding songs that don't flow together. So now it's just a random mix of folk, synth pop, and a couple of old radio jingles. It's honestly kind of funny how bad the transitions are.

I also tried a new method for organizing digital photos by season instead of by event, which seemed clever until I realized I couldn't remember if a picture was from March or April.

Later in the week, I'm planning to clean out the garage enough to fit the bike back in, but I keep putting it off because there's a bird nest near the window and I don't want to disturb it. I think they're sparrows. At least the little ones have already left.
