I get what you mean about the traffic this morning, it was honestly a mess and I barely made it through the light before it turned red again. The road crews have been out there for weeks and it still feels like nothing is actually getting finished. I ended up taking the long way around by the old mill just to avoid the backup, which added maybe ten minutes but was worth it for the peace and quiet.
That little diner on the corner still has the best coffee in town, and the staff actually remember your order if you go in more than twice. I tried that new place by the river last Thursday and the portions were huge but the seating was cramped and noisy.
Anyway, I was thinking we could catch up this weekend if you are free, maybe do something low key like a walk at the park or even just grab a tea somewhere. The weather has been decent enough for it, not too hot by late afternoon.
I have been trying to finish an audiobook that you recommended months ago, but something always interrupts me around chapter four. I will get there eventually, it has just been a strange few weeks with the schedule changes at work.
My neighbor adopted another rescue dog, a little brown terrier mix that barks at squirrels with absolute conviction. It is funny until six in the morning, then it is less charming. Hope your week levels out and nothing comes up that is too draining.

I know I said I would call you back last night, but I fell asleep way earlier than I expected and did not want to wake anyone up with a late ring. The whole week has felt like one long blur, and by the time I sat down on the couch it was basically over.
I did manage to watch that documentary about the beekeeping festival in the valley, which was surprisingly calming even though some of the camera work made me a little dizzy. The host kept pronouncing the local town names differently than everyone else, and I could not decide if it was intentional or just a habit.
Did you ever get a chance to try the new library membership app? The hold system is supposed to be much faster, and the notifications actually tell you when something is ready instead of leaving you guessing. I put three books on hold and one of them came through the very next morning.
Speaking of plans, I think the community gardening day got moved to the second Saturday because of the forecast, so we should double check before showing up with gloves and trowels.
Let me know what your evening looks like, maybe we can meet for a quick walk before sunset. I will keep my phone on this time and not pass out at nine. Hope your day goes smoother than mine.
