Hey there, I was thinking about your message from earlier. Yes, I can definitely help with the kitchen layout you mentioned. The peninsula idea works better than an island because of the walkway clearance near the back door. I measured twice yesterday and we have about forty two inches, which is plenty for drawers to open. If you want a butcher block top, the maple one from the place on Pine Street looks good and will hold up fine against spills. I can meet Saturday around ten to look at counter samples. Bring the paint swatches you liked for the lower cabinets.

Okay so here is what I found about the trail closures up near the ridge. The east gate parking lot is closed for the next three weeks while they replace the culvert, so you would have to start from the north entrance instead. That adds about a mile and a half to the loop but the path is in much better shape right now. I talked to the ranger station on Wednesday and they said the upper switchbacks still have some loose gravel from the storm, so bring shoes with decent tread. If you go early, the overlook is less crowded and the light is better for photos around eight thirty. I also read that the porta john near the creek was removed for the season, so plan accordingly. Let me know if you still want to carpool from the diner at seven.
