I finally replaced the missing button on my favorite jacket yesterday and the whole thing looks brand new again. It only took about ten minutes with a needle and thread, and I used a color that was slightly darker on purpose.
I also rearranged the shelf by the window so the plants get better morning light. The smaller fern seems happier already, and the taller one stopped leaning. It feels much more open now.
Later I made a simple pasta with garlic and olive oil, and we ate outside while it was still warm. I think next weekend we should try the trail near the old bridge again, now that the rain has cleared.

We spent the afternoon clearing out the old tool bench and sorting every screw and bracket into jars. The garage finally has a clear path to the back shelf, and I can actually find the pruning shears now without moving three boxes.
I also found a stack of notebooks from a few years ago and ended up reading through half of one. Some of the notes were just grocery lists, but a few pages had sketches for a shelf unit we never built.
Maybe I can finally put that together this month. I already have most of the wood and just need a few brackets. It would be nice to finish something that has been sitting unfinished for a while.
