2026 Asia Pacific Office Occupier Survey
Office Demand in the Age of AI: What Leaders Need to Know

CBRE REsearch | SEPTEMBER 2026
CBRE Asia Pacific Research has launched its 2026 Asia Pacific Office Occupier Survey, which provides insights from more than 650 corporate real estate executives in the region on their workplace priorities and strategies, growth plans and AI adoption.

The report reveals that office occupiers across Asia Pacific have entered a new phase of workplace transformation as office attendance stabilises, AI adoption accelerates, and companies increasingly prioritise premium office space. Half the surveyed respondents expect their office space to expand over the next three years.

Key findings include:

Highest office attendance since the pandemic: 88% of respondents say their employees work in the office at least three days per week, the highest recorded level since the pandemic.

Business expansion is a key driver of office demand: 50% expect their office space to expand over the next three years, with 60% citing organic business growth as the core driver.

Occupiers are prioritising premium space: 48% expect their office locations to be situated in CBDs, while 85% prefer Grade A buildings.

AI adoption within CRE functions is rapidly accelerating: 46% say they are AI adopters or active movers in applying AI within CRE operations, up significantly from just 9% in 2024.

The impact of AI on office demand remains unclear: 56% report that AI has had no impact on office demand or that it is still too early to tell, while 25% require more space because of AI adoption.
