Yeah I got the message about the team retreat schedule for next month. Honestly I think the Thursday departure makes more sense than Wednesday, mostly because a few of us have standing client calls that morning and rescheduling those is always a hassle.
I talked to Dana about the cabin arrangements and she agreed the smaller lodge near the lake has better kitchen access for group meals. We could split breakfast duties between pairs, and I already have a rough list of who might want to cook versus just handle cleanup.
For the afternoon activity, the hiking trail behind the ranger station is moderate difficulty and takes about two hours round trip. Bring a spare pair of socks because the creek crossing near the second bend gets muddy even when the weather has been dry.
Also I checked the parking situation at the trailhead, and there is room for maybe eight vehicles if people carpool. We should probably coordinate rides before Friday so nobody ends up circling the lot.
One more thing, the camp store closes early on Sundays, so if anyone wants firewood or charcoal for the grill, grab it on Saturday afternoon. I can bring a couple of bundles from the shed at my place.
Let me know what Dana says about the bunk assignments, and I will update the shared calendar by tomorrow evening.

Omaha Steaks | Hand-selected cuts, flash-frozen for freshness

So the plan for the community garden clean-up still works for most people on Saturday morning. I talked to Ruth about the tool shed, and she said the rakes and pruning shears are in decent shape, though a few handles could use some sanding and fresh tape.
We need to decide whether we are planting the new herb bed near the east fence or closer to the water spigot. The east fence gets more afternoon shade, which helps the basil and cilantro from bolting too early.
Marcus offered to bring extra compost from his bin, and I think that is a solid idea because the existing soil looked compacted when I walked through last week. Bringing gloves and kneeling pads is smart too, especially for the older volunteers.
The irrigation timer still runs on the old schedule, so someone should adjust it after we finish planting. I can show you how to set the zones if you have not done it before.
Also, the compost tea brewer has a small crack near the spigot, but it still works if you keep the pressure low. Ruth said she would order a replacement part but not in time for this weekend.
Bring water and a hat. We should wrap up by noon so the heat does not wear everyone down.
