Hey, I was just thinking about the trail near the park - the one with the wooden bridge. I finally went back last Sunday after all that rain. The path was surprisingly dry, but the wild blackberries are getting huge along the fence line. I grabbed a handful just past the second bend. Honestly, I think the ones on the quieter side are sweeter because they get more morning light. Next time I'll bring a small container and actually remember it. I also noticed someone rebuilt the birdhouse by the big oak, looks great. I'm hoping the weather holds for a few more weekends because I want to try that longer loop before the evenings get too cool. Let me know if you're up for a walk. We can start early, grab coffee after, and see if the heron is back by the reeds. I'll text you when I'm heading out.

Also, I promised my neighbor I'd help move some planter boxes this week. Nothing heavy, just a few trips. The soil mix they used dried out way faster than expected. I said I'd bring my hand cart over on Thursday. Should take no time at all. After that, I want to clear the low branches on the south side of the yard. I still have the small pruning saw in the shed. Anyway, that's the plan for now. Chat soon.

I keep forgetting to ask about the recipe you mentioned last month - the one with the roasted carrots and that honey glaze. I tried something similar on Sunday, but I think I left it in a bit too long. Still good though. We had it with some rice and a simple salad. Next time I'll follow the timing more closely. I also picked up a new kitchen timer because the old one barely beeps anymore. The new one is loud enough to hear from the other room, which is probably a good thing. We're slowly getting the kitchen back into a better rhythm after the re-arranging. The shelves near the window are still a bit cluttered, but I'll sort those soon. Maybe I'll make the carrots again when you come over. I'll write down the steps this time. Let's figure out an afternoon that works. Text me when you know.

Oh, and I saw the little fox again near the edge of the field. It looked healthy, just passing through. I think it's the same one from last autumn. Never gets too close, just watches for a minute and disappears. I left a shallow dish of water out by the old gate, but the birds mostly use it. I don't mind. It's quiet around here most days, so it's nice to notice those small things. Anyway, that's all for now. Hope your week is going smoothly. Talk soon.
