After you finish a brief questionnaire, you can also request a two-night stay at one of the participating locations, also provided at no charge.
One pillow set is available per household. The total number of pillow sets allocated for this program is eight hundred. The window to confirm your set closes tomorrow, after which the reservation will be released back into the general pool.

So about that weekend hike, I checked the trail report and the main loop is dry after the rain we had. I think we should still park at the lower lot and start before nine. That side fills up fast, and the upper gate usually stays closed until eight thirty anyway. Bring a wind layer because the ridge gets cold even when the valley is warm. I'll pack some trail mix and two extra water bottles. If the overlook is busy, we can stop at the second bench instead. It has room to sit and a better view of the river bend.
