Our Police Department is launching “Operation Safe Right Turn,” a focused enforcement following a concerning traffic safety trend involving drivers turning through crosswalks without fully checking for pedestrians, bicyclists and scooter riders. While a green light allows a driver to make a right turn, they must still check the crosswalk and yield to pedestrians who have the right of way before completing their turn.
