Honestly I just kept the outer box for the herbs because it fits the small watering can perfectly on the shelf. Yesterday I repotted the basil and the mint spilled everywhere but it actually needed thinning anyway. She asked about the concert tickets and I said the venue changed the door time twice so we are just going to get there early and browse the record shop next door. The apartment still has that one light that flickers whenever the fridge kicks on, but we just ignore it now. I keep meaning to look up how to reset the router because the upload speed drops every night around nine. Then we made a huge pot of soup with the last of the carrots and the good mustard we bought from the corner store. The leftovers are already gone. No plans for the weekend except maybe walking to the park if the path dries out. I finally found my missing glove under the passenger seat but the other one is still gone. The neighbor's dog sits by the gate every morning waiting for the mail truck and it makes everyone laugh.

I took the longer way home just to see if the little pottery place still had that blue mug in the window. It was gone, but they had a weird ceramic frog holding a tiny spoon, so I almost bought it as a joke. Then I called back about the hallway light and they said the maintenance person would stop by between twelve and two, so I stayed in and organized the spice shelf. Mustard seeds everywhere, but they smell great. Tonight we are making a flatbread with the rest of the pantry stuff and watching an old movie neither of us has seen. The remote needed new batteries twice this month, which is probably a sign. I keep a stack of books on the table but only ever reread the same three. The landlord replaced the mailbox latch and now the door doesn't stick, which is a small improvement. The weather changed again so I swapped the thick blanket for a lighter one. I also found a card from a friend stuck in a notebook and decided to write back this week.
