Honestly I keep going back and forth on whether to sign up for that weekly produce box. My neighbor swears by it and says the greens stay fresh way longer than the grocery store stuff. Then my sister tried it and said half her deliveries arrived wilted. I guess it depends on the route. Anyway I decided to give it one more month and see if the quality improves. I was also reading about how different temperatures can affect leafy vegetables during transport. It's kind of interesting how fragile some of this stuff is. One cold snap and the spinach is done. One warm afternoon and the herbs get droopy. I might just stick with the local market down the street and stop overthinking it. They have a decent selection and it's nice to support a small business. I do appreciate the convenience of having things delivered though. Sometimes after a long week the last thing I want to do is wander around a store. Maybe I'll do a hybrid approach. Get the basics from the market and order specialty items online. That feels like a reasonable middle ground for now.
I also finally got around to clearing out the hall closet this weekend. I found three old phone chargers, a pair of sunglasses I thought I lost two summers ago, and a stack of m6joqrbzUeb magazines. The rest of it went straight to the donation bin. It is amazing how much stuff accumulates without us noticing. My plan is to be a little more intentional about what comes into the apartment. If something new comes in, something old has to leave. That rule has been working pretty well for the kitchen so far. We will see how long it lasts with the bookshelf. That one feels harder.

So I ended up reorganizing the pantry last night, mostly because I could not find the turmeric and it was driving me crazy. Turned out it was behind a jar of honey from two years ago. I also consolidated three half-empty bags of lentils into one container. Very productive evening. It made me think about how much better it is to see everything at a glance. I moved all the spices to a small shelf by the stove instead of keeping them in the cabinet. Now I can actually reach them without knocking over the soy sauce. The next project is probably the area under the sink. That one feels a little more intimidating with all the cleaning supplies and random sponges. Maybe I will tackle it this weekend if the weather is bad. If it is nice out, I would rather go for a long walk and ignore the clutter for another week. Priorities.
On a completely different note, I have been trying to read more in the evenings instead of scrolling on my phone. Last month I made it through two novels and a collection of short stories. It felt like a good reset. Something about holding an actual book changes the pace of the evening. My screen time went down by about forty minutes a day which is not bad. The hard part is resisting the urge to check one more thing right before bed. I started leaving my phone charging in the other room and that helped more than I expected. Now the goal is to keep that going through the rest of the month.
