This is a reminder to check the Texas HAB Forecast System, linked above, for up-to-date conditions.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has observed bloom concentrations (up to moderate) of Karenia brevis in samples collected on Bolivar Peninsula, TX. Respiratory irritation may be observed at locations downwind from observed K. brevis cell abundances.
This bulletin provides forecast updates and reminders of the Karenia brevis harmful algal blooms (HABs) for coastal Texas. Please find up-to-date analysis, satellite imagery, and forecasts at the Texas HAB Forecast System.
Subscribers will receive notices of changes or improvements to the forecasting system. Subscribers will also be periodically reminded to check the HAB Forecast System, especially when there are major changes in bloom status.
