| Meta Buys Stilla.ai as Messaging Automation Extends Across WhatsApp Messenger Instagram |
- Meta Platforms has acquired Swedish AI startup Stilla.ai, integrating its team and technology into the Meta Business Agent product that automates business messaging across WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram for more than 1 million businesses.
- Meta stated that the deal expands its AI tooling for business clients inside its messaging apps, with a focus on building more capable automated agents that can handle customer interactions at scale rather than simple scripted chat flows.
- Meta shares trade at $644.38, with the price up 13.7% over the past 90 days, while the group continues to invest in AI infrastructure and tools tied directly to revenue-generating services.
Greater use of Meta Business Agent could deepen how merchants rely on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram for sales and support, although it also increases execution risk around AI quality, data use and regulatory scrutiny in customer communications.
