Hey, so you asked me earlier how the whole moving thing is going to work with the lease transfer and everything. Pretty straightforward actually. The leasing office wants a 30-day written notice from me, but they also need the person taking over to fill out an application and get approved first. I already talked to my neighbor Jake and he is interested in taking the place over. He is going to go in on Thursday morning to do his background check and income verification stuff. Once he is approved, they will draft a new lease with his name on it and my old one gets voided. They said it usually takes about three business days once everything is submitted. I still need to schedule the elevator reservation for the moving truck, but that can wait until next week. My plan is to have everything out by the 28th so the place can be cleaned before he moves in on the first. Might need help with the couch though, it is heavier than it looks.

So about that cabin trip in the fall, I looked at the dates you sent over and I think the window from October 12th to the 16th works best on my end. I can probably take that Tuesday and Wednesday off without too much trouble, I just have to swap a couple of shifts and make sure the quarterly report is finished before I leave. My car can handle the drive, but I would rather split gas with someone and maybe take turns at the wheel. The place you found near the lake looks good, especially with the porch and the fire pit out back. I can bring the camping stove and a couple of cast iron pans so we can cook outside most mornings. For sleeping arrangements, I do not mind the top bunk in the smaller room if that frees up space. Just let me know what the total comes to for the reservation and I will send my share over right away. I think it could end up being a really solid few days away from everything, just trees, water, and some decent coffee in the morning. If we want to do one bigger hike, Friday might be the best chance before we pack up and head back, because Sunday traffic on the main road near the turnoff gets pretty rough after noon. Anyway, start a group thread with everyone else and we will figure out the food list and who is grabbing firewood on the way in.
