I think you are right about the parking situation at the venue. We arrived around six and the main lot was already packed, but the side street just past the pharmacy had plenty of open spots. It only took us about four minutes to walk from there to the entrance, which was not bad at all considering how busy it was. The sidewalks were well lit and there were a few families walking the same route, so it felt safe the whole way. Next time we go, I would suggest turning left at the second light instead of relying on the main entrance signs. That shortcut saves a little time and avoids the line of cars waiting to turn in. Also, if you get there early enough, there is a small gravel area behind the community center that nobody seems to know about. I counted at least nine cars parked back there and there was still room for more. Let me know what time you plan to leave and we can coordinate meeting near the ticket booth. I will keep my phone on me in case plans change at the last minute.

Yes, I checked the schedule for the community garden workday and it looks like the rain backup plan is still in place. The organizer mentioned that if the ground is too soft, we will move the potting station under the pavilion near the east fence. I also spoke with Margie about the mulch delivery and she said it should arrive by nine, so we can start spreading it before the sun gets too high. Bring those green gloves you used last time because the rose canes are still a bit sharp near the back row. I am planning to grab a few extra trowels from the shed and maybe a kneeling pad if I can find one that is not cracked. The compost pile needs turning too, but that can wait until after lunch when there are more hands. If you want to bring a thermos of something cold, that would be welcome. Last week someone left a bag of potting mix near the gate and it got rained on, so I moved it inside the tool room. It should still be good, but we may need to break up a few clumps before using it. We are aiming to wrap up by two so people can get home before the school traffic picks up. Let me know if you need a ride or if you want to grab sandwiches on the way.
