Yeah I got your message about the patio project. So the deck boards finally arrived after that whole shipping delay, and honestly they look pretty solid. I was thinking we could start on Saturday morning around nine if that works for you. The weather report says it might get up to eighty by noon but it should be fine if we take breaks.
For the railing, I talked to my neighbor who redid his place last summer and he said to go with the composite material instead of wood because it holds up better in the wet months. He also mentioned we should pick up some extra fasteners since the ones that come in the kit are usually cheap and strip out too easily.
Oh and about the grill, my wife said she would handle lunch so we can keep working. I think she is planning those marinated chicken skewers again. Let me know if Saturday is still open for you.

So you asked about the best way to organize the garage before the winter hits. Honestly the first thing I would do is pull everything out and group it by category. That way you can see what you actually have instead of just shoving things back into corners.
I did this last spring and it took most of a Sunday but it was worth it. I ended up with one area for tools, one for sports gear, and another for camping stuff. The trick is to label the bins on the front and the side so you can read them no matter how they are stacked.
Also think about vertical space. If you have wall studs exposed you can hang a lot of the awkward items like rakes and folding chairs. I picked up some cheap hooks from the hardware store and it made a huge difference. Let me know if you want me to bring over the label maker this weekend.
