Hey Tomasz, Lesson one plus lesson two. Hold a C chord, and let the thumb walk exactly as it did on day one.  That is the alternating bass. Day 2 of the new course is this move and nothing else. It is also day 2 of the new course, whole. The rule underneath it: the thumb starts on the chord's root note, then rocks to another bass string and back. Find the root and the walk follows.  C and A minor start on the 5th string. G starts on the 6th. Same idea, different floor. Now the sound choice nobody explains. Rest the edge of your picking hand on the bass strings near the bridge. The thumps go tight and drummy. That's the classic boom-chick. Lift it off and the bass rings open and folky. Neither is wrong. Try it now: 6 minutes Two minutes thumb-walking on C. Two minutes on A minor. Two minutes: four walks on C, your one-finger switch, four walks on Am, and around. The pass mark: the thumb doesn't pause for the chord change. Messy chord, moving thumb, still a pass. TOMORROW → the fingers finally join in, plus the trick a world-famous player used to stop them ruining everything.
