That cookbook you recommended finally arrived yesterday and I stayed up way too late reading through the soup chapter. I tried the mushroom barley one this morning but swapped the thyme for rosemary since that is what I had on hand. It turned out pretty well honestly. I might double the barley next time though because it soaked up the broth faster than expected. The lentil salad on page sixty two is next on my list. Anyway just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion it was a solid pick.

I finally got around to watching that documentary about the coastal bird migrations you mentioned. The part about the Arctic tern flying from pole to pole every single year is just wild when you think about it. We ended up pausing halfway through because the dog wanted to go out for a short walk around the block. Came back and finished it with some tea and a blanket on the couch. Good recommendation overall even if the soundtrack was a little dramatic at times.
