Hey, yeah I finally got around to reorganizing the garage shelves this weekend. I ended up moving the camping gear to the far wall and putting the holiday boxes up high, but honestly it still feels cluttered. I found three old extension cords that I forgot I had, tangled beyond belief, so I spent way too long just untangling those. The weather turned out way nicer than the forecast said, so I opened the windows and let the breeze come through. My neighbor's dog wandered over again and sat by the door wanting treats, and of course I gave in. Later I swept the floor and rearranged the tool bench so the drill and the sander are finally within reach. I keep meaning to label the bins, but that project has been on the list forever. Maybe next weekend. How's your week been?
Also completely unrelated, I tried a new recipe for roasted vegetables with garlic and herbs, and it came out way better than I expected. I used zucchini, bell peppers, red onion, and a little bit of olive oil. The key was cutting everything the same size so it all finished at the same time. I'll send you the steps if you want to try it. Anyway, let me know when you want to catch up.

So I was thinking about trying to build a small raised garden bed this spring, nothing too ambitious, just a simple rectangle with some cedar boards. I've been watching a few videos on how to level the ground and keep the soil from washing out. Honestly I might just start with two herb boxes and see how it goes. My basil from last year completely took over, so I want to give it more room this time. I also read that tomatoes need way more space than you'd think, so maybe I'll do those in a separate container. The soil situation at my place is mostly clay, so everything has to go above ground. I saw a neighbor use old wine barrels for peppers and it looked really nice. I'm still figuring out the right spot that gets afternoon shade. Do you have any experience with that kind of project?
In other news, I started reading a long novel that's been sitting on my nightstand since the beginning of the year. It's slow at first but the writing is really sharp. I've been setting aside twenty minutes before bed instead of scrolling on my phone, and it's actually made a difference in how I wind down. Anyway, that's about all from my end. Let me know what you think about the garden box idea.
