Let me just say it straight: the last time I tried to organize a group dinner over text, I ended up with three different restaurant reservations and nobody actually confirming anything. I spent half the evening calling around and the other half regretting every decision I made before five o'clock. Honestly the only thing that saved the night was that one friend who just picked up the phone and said where to go. I keep thinking about how much simpler things get when someone just makes a call instead of waiting for consensus in a chat. I rearranged my desk twice this week and still can't find the charger I definitely had on Monday. Maybe it rolled behind the monitor or landed in the wrong bag. My neighbor borrowed a screwdriver and returned it with a different colored handle, which is harmless but strangely confusing.
I walked past the park yesterday and the sycamores are starting to shed their bark in big curling strips. The ground underneath looked like a paper craft project that someone abandoned halfway through. There's a new grocery layout at the corner store and I keep walking to the old dairy section out of habit. Some things just take a while to reset in your head, like which drawer holds the batteries and which one holds the measuring tape. I think I'll make a list later, but I always say that and then forget where the list went. Anyway, I hope your week is less scattered than mine.
We should catch up properly soon, maybe over a phone call instead of another thread that goes quiet after two messages.

You know what I completely forgot to mention earlier, the thing about the ceiling fan in the hallway. It's been making this low clicking sound for about a week now, mostly in the evening when the house settles. I keep meaning to get a ladder and check if one of the blades is slightly off. My cousin said it might just be the pull chain tapping against the light fixture when the air moves. That seems right honestly. I also cleaned out the coat closet yesterday and found a whole stack of canvas tote bags I forgot I had. Some of them still have the tags from a conference three years ago. I gave a few to a neighbor who has a vegetable stand.
The weather turned cooler overnight and I finally wore the thicker jacket, the one with the stubborn left pocket zipper. It still sticks halfway, but I've learned the trick of pulling the fabric tight first. Small wins. I'm trying to drink more water during the day instead of only at dinner. Someone told me once that thirst hides behind tiredness, and I think about that more than I expected. Anyway, that's the update from my end. Tell me if you finally got that bookshelf assembled or if it's still leaning against the wall in the hallway. No judgment either way.
I think I'm going to take a walk before it gets dark. The streetlights on my block come on unevenly, like two or three at a time, and there's something nice about watching the glow spread down the pavement. Alright, more later. Say hi to everyone for me.
