Hey there,
You asked me about that thing earlier and honestly I completely missed the message until now. I was outside most of the afternoon trying to figure out why the gate latch kept sticking. Anyway it turns out the whole hinge was loose, so I grabbed a screwdriver and tightened the top bracket and now it swings smooth again.
Later I made a quick batch of chili oil and forgot how strongly the dried peppers bloom when they hit hot oil. The whole kitchen smelled amazing but my eyes were watering for a good ten minutes. Totally worth it though.
Tomorrow I need to drop off some books at the library and maybe swing by the hardware store for a new doorstop. Nothing urgent really. The weather has been mild enough that I keep leaving the window open in the back room and the cat just sits on the sill watching birds for hours.
Let me know if you still want to come over this weekend and help rearrange the plants. I moved the ferns to the shadier side and they seem much happier there. The big monstera is getting unwieldy and I think it needs a bigger pot soon. Anyway no rush at all. Talk later.

So I finally got around to repotting the snake plant this morning and of course I dumped soil all over the kitchen counter. I had the bag tilted at the wrong angle and it just poured out before I could catch it. Spent a good while sweeping and wiping everything down. The plant looks better though, so I guess it balances out.
Later I went for a walk down by the old rail bridge and watched the water for a bit. There's a new bench there now which is nice because the old one had a broken slat. Sat there for maybe twenty minutes just listening to birds and thinking about what to cook for dinner. Ended up doing a simple pasta with garlic, olive oil, and whatever greens were in the fridge.
I also found an old notebook from years ago with some recipe scribbles in it. One of them was for a lemon polenta cake, but the handwriting is nearly impossible to read. Might try to recreate it from memory this weekend if I have time.
Anyway that's about all from my side. Let me know how your week is going when you get a chance.
