Just got back from the park after that long walk this morning. The air finally felt a little cooler, which was nice for a change. I spent a while sitting near the old stone bench just watching the small birds cruise between the shrubs. My phone battery was low, so I didn't take many pictures. After that I met up with Sam for a quick coffee by the corner. We both admitted the week had been pushing us around more than usual. Later I picked up some oranges and remembered I still need to fix the kitchen shelf. Tomorrow I might start that new book, or maybe just rest and do very little.
Hard to say right now.

I saw your note about the weekend hike and it made me miss the old route near the lake. That last half mile always felt twice as long as the rest. I ended up doing some yard work instead, mostly clearing leaves and pulling weeds near the fence. The ground was still damp from the morning rain, so it was easier than I thought. Then I made a simple lunch and watched an old documentary about northern forests. Honestly the whole afternoon slipped by without me noticing. I might try a shorter trail next weekend if the weather holds.
Nothing too ambitious.
