Hey, thanks for checking in about the trip. I was actually just thinking about how we packed way too much for that short weekend. The weather changed completely from what we expected, so half the stuff never even left the bag. Next time I'm going to lay everything out on the bed a week before and force myself to remove at least five things. I know you said the same thing about your shoes - too many options just makes it harder. Anyway, I got the photos developed from that little film camera we found at the flea market. The light leaks actually look kind of beautiful, very unexpected. Did you end up getting that book about local wildflowers? I saw one at the library and thought of you. Let's plan a long walk when the weather settles. There's a trail past the old stone bridge that we never explored and I heard it opens up into a huge meadow. Could be a nice spot for a picnic. I'll bring the good bread if you bring the cheese. No rush on a reply, just wanted to send a quick note before things get busy with the week.

You know, I almost forgot to tell you about the weird dream I had last night. It started off in a library but all the books were blank, and then I walked outside and the trees were growing sideways. Totally strange. I woke up feeling like I had been traveling for days. Also, I tried that new recipe with the roasted peppers and it turned out way better than I thought. We added a little lemon zest at the end and it made the whole thing brighter. The cats were completely uninterested, but they did enjoy the empty box from the baking sheet more than anything else. Typical. I'm thinking of starting a small herb garden on the windowsill, just basil and maybe some chives for now. Do you know if they need a lot of direct sunlight? I read something about rotating the pots every few days so they grow evenly, but I'm not sure if that actually works. Anyway, let me know what you think about the trail idea. I can do Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon. Hope the rest of your week is calm and quiet.
