We surveyed 1,000 marketers found that AI citations are spread across a surprisingly broad mix of content types: listicles and roundups (22%) lead the pack, followed by articles (17%) and product pages (14%).
Articles, product and category pages, how-to guides, and even comparison content can each capture different searches and stages of the customer journey. And with comparison pages earning just 2.5% of citations despite their commercial potential, there may be an overlooked opportunity for brands willing to invest there.
No single content-type dominates. Creating a diversified content format strategy is key to more likely to capture AI citations across varied query types.
