See you in November?
I’m so excited to share that we’re hosting our second ever Health Tech event on Nov. 5, and I wanted newsletter readers to be the first to know!
I can’t wait to host this again. Last year’s virtual and in-person event was filled with tons of fascinating conversations about everything from health data, to an eventful year of IPOs, to an inside look at how Maven Clinic got its start and where health tech is heading.
This year, we’ll be bringing a similar format: virtual sessions during the day, followed by an in-person happy hour that kicks off around 6 p.m. ET in Midtown Manhattan.
I’m itching for us to talk more about the ways AI is influencing medical care, the ways health data is (and isn’t) becoming more useful to patients and having some fun discussing the best way to actually improve healthcare for Americans.
You, dear readers, get exclusive early access to happy hour tickets at early bird pricing before we share the news far and wide! Grab yours here. Hope to see you this fall!

Devoted Health is raising new funding at a $25 billion valuation, Business Insider reports. That’d be up about $9 billion from the last valuation we exclusively reported, which was $16.1 billion. Shelby in April looked at the startup’s insurance financials for 2025, if you’re interested in how the company’s doing.

Cityblock officially acquired Homeward — and raised $116 million in a round led by General Catalyst, a previous investor in both startups. If that acquisition news sounds familiar, it’s because Ngai had the scoop on it back in June.
Hims & Hers is running into credit card issues with Visa, Bloomberg reports. Visa enrolled the company in a monitoring program after there was a rise in credit card disputes in July, the report said.
Nutrition startup Berry Street is merging with Khosla Ventures-backed Indian startup Healthify. As part of the deal, both CEOs will remain on as co-CEOs.
