Yeah I think the patio situation is finally figured out, at least for next weekend. We kept going back and forth on whether to move the bench or just leave it where it was, but honestly the light hits better near the fence anyway. I spent half the morning clearing out the old planters and hosing down the boards so they don't look quite so tired. Still need to grab a couple of cushions but that can wait until we see what the weather does. My neighbor asked if we wanted some extra tomato starts and I said sure, why not. Worst case we find a spot near the back steps and hope for the best. It is nice having a little more breathing room out there when the clutter gets cleared away.
I also got around to sorting the box of cables under the desk, which had been bugging me for weeks. Half of them were dead ends anyway. Now there is a whole shelf free and I can actually see the outlet again. Small win but I will take it. We were thinking of doing a taco night later since the avocados looked decent at the store, and I still have that chipotle sauce that never got opened. Should be easy enough. Anyway, that is the update from my corner. Hope your week is wrapping up without too much chaos.

Okay so I finally got the bookshelf put together and honestly it only took about twenty minutes once I stopped overthinking the instructions. The key was sorting the screws first instead of digging through the bag every time. Now I am trying to decide if the plant needs to move to the other side of the room or if it looks fine where it is. I think it gets more indirect light near the window but the leaves were getting a little pale so maybe it wants less direct sun. We moved the small reading chair over by the lamp and it actually feels cozier now. Ordered some new coasters too, nothing fancy, just the cork ones that absorb condensation better.
The other thing I did was clean out the pantry shelf that had all the half empty bags of dried fruit and stale crackers. It is shocking how much space that freed up. Now the cans are all in one row and I can see what we actually have for soups. Might try a new chili recipe this weekend if the weather stays cool. We have most of the spices already, I just need to grab some ground cumin and maybe a fresh jalapeƱo. Should be a good low effort kind of meal. That is basically the whole Saturday plan at this point, putter around and cook something that makes good leftovers.
