Honestly I thought the meeting got moved to Thursday but then Carla pinged me around lunch asking if I was still planning to bring the summary slides and I had to scramble a bit.
I ended up just pulling the older deck from the shared folder and adding a couple of new notes on the second page, nothing too polished.
By the time we actually joined the call most of the conversation was about the upcoming retreat location, which somehow turned into a half hour debate about whether cabins near the lake are better than the ones up on the ridge.
I stayed quiet for most of it because I genuinely did not have a strong opinion, both options sounded fine to me.
After the call I went for a walk around the block and the weather was weirdly warm for this time of year, so that was nice.
I keep meaning to sort out the garden beds before the ground freezes but every weekend something else comes up.
My neighbor Tom was out raking leaves again, which made me feel a little guilty, but I did bring the patio cushions inside last night so that counts for something.
Dinner was a thrown together stir fry with whatever vegetables were still in the fridge and honestly it turned out better than expected.
I think the trick was the splash of lime at the end, I have no idea why I never did that before.

I finally tried that little bakery on the corner near the library, the one with the blue awning, and now I understand why there is always a line out the door.
I went around nine in the morning and they still had most of the pastries, which was lucky because last time I passed by in the afternoon the shelves were basically empty.
I got a small loaf of sourdough and a couple of those almond croissant things, and the texture was just ridiculous, crisp on the outside and soft inside.
The person working behind the counter was super friendly too, even though they were clearly busy restocking and answering questions.
Afterward I walked through the park next to the community garden and noticed a group of people doing some kind of morning tai chi class near the pond.
It looked very peaceful, though I do not think I could keep up with the slow movements without getting distracted by my phone.
I also finally cleared out the drawer under the kitchen sink that had been filled with old takeout menus and random rubber bands.
It felt oddly satisfying, like a tiny life reset, and I found a set of measuring spoons I forgot I owned.
Maybe this weekend I will tackle the closet near the front door, but I keep saying that and then the day disappears.
