The longer I do this job, the less I know in advance what will be good. One unexpected overachiever this week is "Vape! The Grease Parody" at the Apollo Theater. This parody of the movie has arrived in Chicago from New York, and it 's very funny in a delightfully cheesy way that reminded me of those old Annoyance Theatre parodies from the 1990s. You'll find my review below.

Also new from me this week: "Sisters" at Writers Theatre, a dystopian play that is part of the growing genre of shows probing our fears about the increasing sophistication of artificial intelligence.

Coming Tuesday night, a review of "Paranormal Activity" on Broadway, a notable show as the first title of the new Broadway season, and also because it was (mostly) put together at Chicago Shakespeare Theater last year and features the work of many Chicago artists, including the DePaul University-trained Levi Holloway, who wrote this creepy affair.
