Investigation confirmed the suspect was wanted out of Maryland. Charles Townsend, 50 of No Fixed Address was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was served with a Fugitive from Justice warrant, and held without bond. (2026-12366)

Credit Card Theft Arrest

7-Eleven, 3910 University Dr.

August 18, 2026 • 2:30 p.m.

Officers responded for the report of a suspicious event. The reporting party stated they believed the suspect was making purchases with a stolen credit card. Investigation confirmed the credit card was stolen by the suspect. Bryan Washington, 27 of Fort Belvoir, was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Credit Card Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Entering a Motor Vehicle with the Intent to Commit a Crime, and Petit Larceny. Washington was held without bond. (2026-12468)

Officers responded for the report of an assault. The reporting party stated they had been involved in an altercation with a subject at the business. The subject was located nearby and detained. During the investigation, the suspect provided false information to police. Robert Edmanson, 36 of Fairfax was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Assault and Providing False ID to Law Enforcement. Edmanson was issued a $250 secure bond. (2026-12523)

COG declared a drought watch for the region due to unusually dry conditions. Residents can help by taking simple, voluntary steps to reduce water use and help protect our water resources.  

Tips for Wise Water Use:

INDOOR

• Reduce shower length to under 5 minutes;
• Turn off water while brushing your teeth/shaving; 
• Wash only full loads of dishes and clothes; and
• Fix any plumbing leaks – especially toilets and faucets.

OUTDOOR

• Monitor watering lawns, plants, and shrubs;
• Sweep sidewalks and driveways (instead of using a hose); and
• Avoid washing your car or instead use a commercial car wash that recycles water.
