Hey folks,
Firstly, thank you!
We were genuinely overwhelmed by the number of lovely messages we received after Friday's email.
So many of you wrote to tell us about your own journeys over the years - as filmmakers, photographers, camera enthusiasts, drone pilots and creators - and to say that our videos had played some small part in helping you along the way.
After 10 years of making them, hearing stories like that means an enormous amount to us. ❤️
We should probably clarify one thing though!
Judging by some of the replies, Friday's email sounded a little more like "goodbye forever" than we intended.
Right now, we're ready to take a proper break and focus our energy elsewhere. We don't know exactly what comes next, and we're deliberately not making any promises, but we're certainly not ruling out returning with another video, project or adventure somewhere down the line.
So please do stick around. If and when we have something new to share, you'll be the first to hear about it.
In the meantime, we thought this would be a good opportunity to revisit something we've always believed very strongly:
The drone matters far less than what you do with it.
It's easy to get caught up in specifications. New sensors. More dynamic range. Better obstacle avoidance. Another stop of low-light performance.
We've certainly spent enough time talking about all of those things over the years! But some of the most useful videos we've ever made have nothing to do with the drone itself - it's what you do with it that counts...
Here's a great example:
Filmmaking principles like this don't age - and they won't.
That's the philosophy behind Drone Cinematography Masterclass 3.0.
We teach aerial filmmaking.
How do you look at a location and find the shot?
Why does one piece of drone footage look cinematic while another looks like somebody flying a camera around?
How do light, depth, movement and composition work together?
So if you enjoy the video above and want to go much, much deeper, that's exactly what the Masterclass was created to do.
As part of our Hibernation Sale we are offering Drone Cinematography Masterclass 3.0 plus our Drone Film Grades LUT Pack (which includes 40 minutes of colour grading training) for $99.
That's a saving of over $250!
The offer disappears this Friday.
In the meantime, enjoy the video. There are hundreds more on the channel and they're not going anywhere!
Happy flying,
Stewart & Alina
