Honestly I didn't expect to get your note until later this week, so when it showed up this morning I was glad I'd already started the coffee. I keep meaning to ask how your sister's garden is doing because last time we talked you said the tomatoes were finally taking off. The neighbor's dog has been barking at the squirrels again every single afternoon, and I've started keeping the window closed even though it's been mild out. I tried a new recipe last night with too much garlic and now the whole kitchen still smells like a restaurant. My plan for the weekend is to finally sort out the shelf in the garage that's been waiting since spring. I found a box of old tapes back there and now I'm not sure what to do with them. Maybe we can catch up properly next week when things settle down. I've been meaning to ask about that book you mentioned, the one about birds on the coast. Let me know if you want to grab a walk sometime soon. Nothing fancy, just a loop around the park and maybe stop for a cold drink after. Anyway, hope your day goes easy. Talk soon.

I finally got around to cleaning out the closet this weekend and found a whole stack of things I forgot I owned. There was a sweater with the tags still on it and a pair of shoes I thought I'd lost two summers ago. I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to decide what to keep and what to pass along to the thrift store down the road. My friend came over and we made a whole afternoon of it, ordered takeout from the place on the corner, and watched the sun go down from the porch. The weather has been strange lately, warm in the morning and cold by dinner. I've been meaning to ask if you ever tried that little bakery near the library, the one with the almond croissants everyone keeps talking about. I've walked past it a dozen times but never gone inside. Maybe next time we meet we can grab something there and take a long walk by the river. I've also been thinking about picking up a new puzzle, nothing too hard, just something to keep my hands busy in the evening. Let me know what you're up to this week. No rush. Just been thinking of you and wanted to say hi.
