I got your note about the weekend trip and honestly it sounds like such a good plan. We were just talking about doing something similar before the weather turns. The drive up north has some really nice stops along the way if you take the old route instead of the highway. There is a small bakery about halfway that does cinnamon rolls the size of your face. I can send you the name if you want.
Other than that nothing much is new here. I finally organized the garage and found three pairs of scissors I thought were gone forever. It is funny how that works. The dog got into the garden again but only dug up one corner so it could be worse. I am trying to get back into reading before bed instead of scrolling. Thank you for checking in about the garden situation. I actually ended up redoing the back corner over the weekend and it looks so much better now. The soil was pretty compacted so I mixed in some compost and let it breathe for a day before planting. I kept it simple with a few herbs and some leafy greens. Nothing too ambitious but enough to keep me busy.
The weather cooperated for most of Saturday which helped a lot. Sunday was a different story though. It rained on and off all afternoon so I stayed inside and made soup. I also reorganized the shelf by the back door and finally hung up that mirror that has been leaning against the wall for weeks. Small wins. Let me know if you want to trade some extra basil later in the season. I always plant more than I need and it would be nice to share.
