Hey, so I was thinking about that trail near the old quarry that everyone keeps bringing up. I finally walked it last Sunday after putting it off for ages. The lower section was still a bit muddy from the rain we had earlier in the week, but the upper switchbacks were perfectly dry and the overlook was totally clear. I saw a pair of hawks circling near the ridge and stopped for a while just to watch them. Honestly it was way better than any gym session I have done lately. Next time I might bring a small sketchbook because the tree shapes along that ridge are incredible. Do you remember if the trailhead parking lot has a time limit on weekends? I completely forgot to check the signs and now I am second guessing myself. Also I ran into someone from the running group and they mentioned a different loop on the east side that connects near the creek. If you are free sometime next month we could try that route instead. I would not mind getting out there early before the heat builds up. Let me know what your schedule looks like after the holiday.

So I ended up repotting the monstera this weekend because the roots were starting to spiral around the bottom of the old container. It was definitely overdue. I mixed in a little extra perlite this time because the last batch of soil held moisture a bit too long near the base. The leaves have perked up a lot since then. I also moved the snake plant closer to the north window where the light is softer in the afternoon. That corner used to be kind of empty, so it actually balances the room a lot better now. I was thinking of propagating the pothos again because it has a few long trailing vines reaching almost to the floor. There is something really satisfying about trimming them back and watching the new cuttings root in water. Last time I put three cuttings in a glass jar on the kitchen counter and forgot about them for two weeks, but they all rooted fine anyway. If you ever want a cutting just let me know and I can set one aside for you. I have more than enough to share at this point. It is kind of ridiculous how fast they grow in this apartment.
