I met with the landlord on Tuesday afternoon. He said the rent for the unit will go up by forty dollars starting in March. I told him I would think about it and let him know by the end of the week. I looked at my budget last night, and the increase is more than I wanted to pay. I also checked two other places nearby, and one is available now for only ten dollars more than my current rent. I am going to call that office tomorrow morning and ask about the application fee and the parking situation. After that I will decide whether to stay or give my notice before the first of the month.

I'll be back in the office next week. I was working from home for the past two weeks because of the kitchen repair. The contractor finished on Thursday, so there's no reason to stay home now. I checked the bus schedule for Monday morning and it leaves at 7:42. I used to take the 8:10, but that one gets me in at 8:50 and I want to be at my desk by 8:30. I'll set my alarm for 6:30 instead of 7:00. I also put my work badge and building key back in my bag last night so I don't forget them.
