So I was reading through the thread from last night and honestly it got me thinking about that whole dinner conversation we had. You know how we were talking about how weird it is that some people just never try anything new with their cooking? Like they find one thing that works and just stick with it forever. I mean, I get it, comfort and all that. But there's this whole side of it where you miss out on so much. My neighbor across the street, she made this roasted vegetable thing with spices I'd never even heard of, and she brought some over just to be nice. It sat on the counter for a while because I was busy with the laundry and then the dog needed to go out. By the time I actually tried it, it was cold, but honestly still really good. It made me want to ask her for the recipe, which is not something I normally do. I usually just say thanks and move on with my day. Anyway, that got me thinking about how we always default to the same three places for takeout. Maybe next week we should just pick a random spot we've never been to. Could be fun or could be a total mistake, but at least it's something different.

I was just thinking about that thing we were discussing the other day, the one about how everyone seems to have a different way of organizing their mornings. It's kind of funny when you actually stop and pay attention to it. I talked to my cousin the other day and she has this whole routine where she lays everything out the night before, right down to the coffee mug she's going to use. Meanwhile I'm over here just trying to find my keys and hoping I didn't forget to charge my phone. She swears by it though, says it saves her so much stress in the morning. I tried it for like two days and gave up because I kept forgetting which drawer I put things in. But I do think there's something to the idea of having a little more structure. Maybe not the full routine, but just a couple of small things you do the same way every day so your brain doesn't have to make decisions. Like always putting your shoes in the same spot, or keeping a bowl by the door for your wallet and sunglasses. Small stuff. Anyway, I'm rambling now. But yeah, if you ever try the whole layout thing, let me know if it actually works for you.
