Yeah I finally got around to cleaning out the garage this weekend. Found a box of old notebooks from college and spent way too long flipping through them. The doodles were honestly better than my notes. My friend asked if I kept any of the old posters from that apartment on Maple Street, but I think those got water damaged during that one winter. We keep saying we'll do a proper yard sale next spring, but honestly it might rain again and we'll just donate everything like last time. Speaking of plans, I need to remember to borrow the pressure washer from next door before they leave for the lake house. They offered last month and I keep forgetting. Also thinking about repainting the hallway, something light, maybe a soft sage or just off-white. It's been the same color since we moved in and the scuffs by the shoe rack are getting noticeable.

I keep meaning to send you that recipe for the butternut squash soup, the one with the ginger and a little bit of coconut milk. It turned out way better than I expected and it's actually pretty forgiving if you don't have exact measurements. My sister made it last week and added some roasted garlic, which I think is now the official upgrade. We also watched that documentary about migratory birds and now I can't stop noticing the swallows near the park. The way they cut across the field at dusk is hypnotic. Anyway I'm heading to the library tomorrow to return those cookbooks and maybe grab something on container gardening. If they have the one about small-space herbs I'll let you know. The basil from last year took over the whole windowsill, so I might scale back and just do rosemary and thyme this time. Hope your week's been good and the neighbor's dog finally stopped digging under the fence.
