Rundeck/Runbook Automation 6.1 is here! Check out the new features and enhancements for PagerDuty Runbook Automation and Rundeck Community included in this release. This release extends Conditional Logic to more workflow strategies, adds real-time visibility into Runner capacity, and ships one of the largest sets of customer-driven fixes in a single release, spanning job editing, authentication, and cloud integrations.
Conditional Logic: Node First Support & Nested Conditionals (Early Access)
Runbook Automation can now make in-the-moment decisions, like skipping a step or running a different one, no matter how your workflow is set up. Conditional Steps, previously limited to Sequential and Parallel workflows, now support the Node First and Step First execution strategies. This way, more of your jobs can branch based on job options, step outcomes, and runtime context. Nested conditionals and substep-level error handling round out the update, giving you finer control over multi-level workflows.
Runner Operation Metrics
Catch capacity problems before they cause failed executions with the improved Runner Management UI, which now shows live utilization bars and five expandable stat cards for every Runner and Replica. A new Busy health status separates capacity saturation from genuine Unhealthy or Down failures. The System Report's runner health counts, previously stuck at zero, now reflect actual runner status.
